Membership Overview

The Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club (EPFSC), located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is an organization designed to support the sport of figure skating in our community.

Being an EPFSC member allows a skater to take tests governed by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) and to participate in sanctioned competitions and other skating events.

EPFSC is also a member of the Twin City Figure Skating Association (TCFSA).

Membership Options

The EPFSC offers several membership options for skaters, the most common of which are Home Club membership, First Year membership, and Associate membership.

Home Club Membership

A skater can list only one club as their “home club.” This is the club that will be announced at competitions or other events. A skater will spend the majority of their ice time at the home club facility. The majority of EPFSC members (97 percent) are home club members.

First Year Membership

A First Year membership is a transitional membership to supplement the Eden Prairie Learn-To-Skate program and support new skaters as they transition into Junior Club and/or private lessons. This membership type applies to skaters new to figure skating and to US Figure Skating Association membership (skaters with prior USFSA membership through another club are not eligible for First Year membership and must join EPFSC as Home Club members).

Junior Club Classes

EPFSC provides Junior Club lessons for developing skaters, Otter level through Freestyle 4, to participate in a small-group lesson environment. The Junior Club’s small-group lessons are an enhancement of the Eden Prairie Skate School program. The small-group atmosphere eases the transition into regular open freestyle sessions and private instruction. We strive for a 6:1 student-teacher ratio at these sessions to ensure individualized attention for each skater. Junior Club sessions are offered once a week for 30 minutes.

Associate Membership

Associate members also can contract for club ice at Eden Prairie while retaining their home club status at another club.
